Building reusable data assets for data science, analytics, and reporting

Details
Data is an asset to your company. How you manage it and treat your data from source through consumption and eventual removal can be very complex and will make or break your business. Data will be duplicated and curated by many teams within your business and those teams will also build their own platforms. This will cause security risks, incorrect data interpretation, and the proliferation of shadow IT teams that cost more money and more headaches across your organization.
Shifting your focus from a service / order taking organization to a team that delivers valuable assets (Data Products) will fundamentally change the way you do business. Developing a data supply chain that delivers the data when and where your business partners need it along with security, metadata, and enterprise-wide defined metrics is possible to reduce duplication and incorrect decisions while increasing trust in your IT/CDO organization. Data Products within an organization will drive deeper partnerships, higher quality data, reduced duplication of data and more secure data ecosystems through a product-driven approach to data and analytics.
