Lead & Oil (short campaign, beginners welcome)

Details

The oilmen want the land. The mayor wants a cut. And now a gang of hired guns is riding in to burn the town to the ground. You’re the only thing standing in their way.

Lead & Oil is a short tabletop adventure campaign set in loose pulp & Hollywood interpretation of the old west. In it, a dust-blown frontier town is under siege by “official” gunmen hired by the mayor and his corporate backers to force out holdouts blocking a profitable oil claim. The law’s been bought. The townsfolk are outgunned. Only the drifters, the desperate, and the damned remain to defend it.

Players will organize the defense of a crumbling town. Recruit allies, fortify weak spots, and hold out against an incoming assault.

The tone will be gritty, tense, and dusty. Classic western with a corporate-industrial undercurrent. High Noon meets Deadwood and 7 Samurai with Chinatown under the surface.

The game is likely to cover corruption, loyalty, frontier justice, found family, redemption arcs, greed, dying ways of life, gun fights, and death.

Is it suitable for beginners?

Yes! No knowledge of rules necessary, everything will be taught as we play.

How long will the campaign run?

We'll play it by ear, but no longer than four sessions. Players are not required to commit to all six, but returning players will be given seat priority. Based on the material I have prepped I'm thinking two to three sessions is most likely. We'll plan to wrap on the fourth session no matter what.

Do I need to bring anything?

No, everything needed to play will be provided. If you have dice, pencils, or a notebook those are welcome, but not needed.
