Walk Name: Fanno Creek Trail – Tigard Library to Main St., and possibly beyond.

Note: The walk will begin promptly at 10:00 am with everyone who arrives on time. Please arrive on time. If you need to text me for any reason, my number is 503-702-5059.

Walk Description: We will walk for 1 hour or 2 miles. Whichever happens first. Then we'll turn around. I do like to walk a somewhat speedy 2.6 miles per hour on flat ground. So if you stroll or prefer to walk slowly, this might not be the walk for you. On the other hand, I'll never leave you in the dust. So if it turns out after one hour of walking we've only gone 1.5 miles, we'll turn around and head back anyway. Thus, this is a "4ish" mile walk.

*Start at Fanno Creek Trail entrance at the Tigard library, and walk towards Main Street, which is in old downtown Tigard.

Features: Creekside views, shaded areas, benches, pedestrian bridge, access to library restrooms during open hours
Difficulty: Easy
Dogs are welcome on the Fanno Creek trail.

Please note: By signing up for this walk, you agree to take full responsibility for your well-being at all times, while also acting as a supportive member of the group. Supporting the group includes arriving on time, not leaving the group without telling someone, observing basic walking etiquette, and not dashing ahead of the walk leader, but being able to keep up with our pace. (thank you). It also includes removing yourself from the attendee list as soon as your plans have changed so that anyone on the waiting list will be able to join us.

Let's meet for Lunch at Casa Lola Kitchen de Mexico

My husband & I had dinner here recently (for the 1st time) with another couple - so, we each got to try bites of 4 of their entrees.

My impression: this Mexican restaurant is on the "Foodie" side, which the prices reflect; I'm giving it two thumbs up 👍👍 and adding it to my *restaurants I like closeby list! (It was a 7 minute drive from home. Yay!)

How Lunch Meetups Work in Our Group

As our meetup group grows into a broad community, lunch gatherings can be intentionally designed to stay small—usually around eight to ten people, when it feel important to the host to do so to keep from overwhelming restaurants during the busy 11:30 lunch hour.

More importantly, it creates a close, comfortable setting where we can genuinely get to know one another.

That said, this is just one approach. Lunches could also be organized as larger gatherings if that’s what people prefer. The smaller group idea is simply how I see the possibility unfolding for posting them the way I like to have lunch out with a group of women. You can host a lunch outing however you like!

Event Templates & Draft Box

Once a lunch event is created, it will be saved in the Draft Box for future use.

If you see a past lunch event and would like to host at that same restaurant, just message me and I’ll share the template with you so you can post it yourself.

Experienced hosts can copy templates directly.

If you’ve never hosted before but would like to, I’ll walk you through the instructions and guidelines so you can join the hosting team.

Hosting Options

When a host posts an event, it can be added to the calendar without sending an email to the entire group.

This flexibility allows you to:

Share first with a smaller circle of friends or connections, then later notify the full group.

Or, send the announcement right away so the whole membership sees it.

Either way, once an event is posted, it is visible to everyone. Any member who comes across it is welcome to sign up.

The purpose of this system is to make lunch meetups a versatile tool: sometimes for smaller, more intimate gatherings, and other times for larger group participation.

I’m open to everyone’s feedback, ideas, and concepts—this is a community effort, and together we’ll shape the best way to make lunch meetups enjoyable and accessible for all.

The Tigard Westside☕️ Coffee & Chat thay I organize will usually meets the 1st week of the month at the Ava Roasteria in Downtown Tigard for coffee and conversation. I have chosen to limit the event attendance so that we can enjoy conversation in a small group setting for getting to know those in our local area. However, all are welcome at any of our Westside Coffee & Chat event!

I'm participating in a couple of other event on the 1st week of month. And I'll be on vacation during the 1st week of October - hence the date for Thursday, Oct 9th.

*Note: if you have a favorite coffee shop and would like to host one of our groups Westside Coffee & Chat events in another location, message me an we can set it up as well. You're also welcome to set your own attendance level when you plan one!

We're looking forward to scheduling these Coffee events hosted by our members at your favorite neighborhood coffee shops any day of the week or time that works for you to host!
** The point is for all of our members to be able to utilize the Meetup platform, as a member of our group, to create community events in all the ways we can dream up!

If you’ve been following the side notes I’ve added to some of our events, you’ve seen my growing insights about the potential this Vibrant Women’s community has when we fully utilize the Meetup platform.

This coffee meetup is such a clear example. The event filled quickly, and there are currently 12 women on the waitlist. That tells us how deeply we all crave a vibrant, local community — simply meeting at a coffee shop to share conversation and connection.

By opening up the Vibrant Women’s Meetup platform for everyone’s benefit, any member attending this event — or even those on the waitlist — can recreate it. You can post another coffee chat at this same location anytime, or start one at your own favorite spot. The platform is here for all of us. Some of you will feel inspired to host, greet, and set the tone, while others will simply want to attend and enjoy visiting with friends or meeting new ones. Both roles are valuable and needed.

I’m excited about the potential this group has to support women who are searching for meaningful friendships. Together, as the Vibrant Women’s Community, we’re building something that matters. Every day it becomes clearer to me how important this is — and how much of a difference it can make.

This group began on September 1, 2025, with just one member. Today, only a week later on September 8, we have more than 130 women who’ve joined!

We have a wonderful opportunity to grow a Vibrant Community of Women, creating friendships through shared experiences. You are warmly invited to participate in events — and, if you feel inspired, to join me in building a team of hosts with fresh ideas for all kinds of gatherings and activities.
