Thursday Virtual Happy Hour: Frappato
Details
Frappato is a light-bodied red grape widely grown on the southeastern coast of Sicily. It is a component, with Nero d'Avola, of the island's only DOCG wine, Cerasuolo di Vittoria.
Cherry-colored, aromatic and low in tannins, varietal Frappato wines are light bodied and slightly reminiscent of good Beaujolais. Many of Sicily's top producers, such as Planeta, Cos and Arianna Occhipinti do make single variety wines.
However, Frappato is found more commonly in combination with other varieties. Nero d’Avola is its prime blending partner, because of its complementary bodyweight and concentration of color. Frappato wines may also be blended with Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio and Nocera.
## We have a choice of videos to watch including:

So, pick up a bottle and watch a couple of videos. Let us know what you’re drinking and eating, and, if possible, the region from which your wine comes. Do you have any comments (positive or negative) about the videos? And, as always, tell us what’s going on in your life - what's happening with you, how you're feeling about things, updates, successes, challenges - as much or as little as you’re willing to disclose. We are in this together. And - thank goodness - we have wine!
Cheers!!
