What we’re about

The West Valley Writers’ Workshop in Avondale, Arizona
https://www.meetup.com/westvalleywriters
We hold our Workshop meetings  from 1:15 To 4:15 p.m., the fourth Saturday of every month, at the Avondale Civic Center Library.

The members form a congenial group of published authors, aspiring authors, and writers figuring out what they want to write and how to do it. All three of these descriptions apply to some individual members.
We focus on getting published, and once published, getting people to read our work. We welcome all genres: Fiction for any age, memoir, how-to, poetry, and movie scripts.
Not sure you want to publish? Perhaps we can help you find out.
Each month a visitor or a member of our group makes a presentation to us about strategies that have worked—or not. We explore the pros and cons of self-publishing or going the conventional route. We learn about pitfalls along the way, mistakes we can avoid; about evolving marketing opportunities available to the authors old and new, and how to use them.
Our group has a wealth of experience and willingness to share. We help hone skills and discover new avenues.
Not sure? Come to a meeting to find out. First-timers tell us our meetings are enjoyable. There is no membership fee. As a writer, do bring your own pencil or pen.
When you plan to attend, please RSVP on this website.
Cheers,
Bob Duckles
