About us

A Chapter of Audubon of Florida and National Audubon Society est. 1961, West Volusia Audubon represents the western area of Volusia County, Florida, hosts guided hikes, educational programs, and much more as part of its goal of fostering a community of birders and nature lovers for the enjoyment and protection of birds.

One of West Volusia Audubon’s signature projects is the Friends of Lyonia, an initiative aimed at promoting and supporting Lyonia Preserve and Lyonia Environmental Center in Deltona, FL. This magical 360-acre preserve is home to the Florida Scrub-Jay and is a beautiful example of Florida’s native scrub habitat.
