LGBTQ+ Open Water Swim at Balscadden beach, Howth

Welcome to our summer weekly Open Swim or Dip Evening in Dublin for LGBTQ+ community! Wet & Wild is a friendly LGBTQ+ outdoor pursuits club. We host an event on Dublin's southside every Tuesday and on the northside every Wednesday. Join us for a refreshing and invigorating swim at one of Dublin's great swimming spots.

The venue for this week's north side swim is Balscadden Beach. Howth. We will meet at bottom of steps on the beach.

Do I need to be an experienced swimmer?

You need to be comfortable getting into water deeper than you can stand in. This is a FUN dip in the Irish Sea! If you want to be in and out in 5 seconds, that's totally fine. For more experienced and acclimatised swimmers, there will be an option of swimming further. Whatever you want to do, there'll be someone to do it with.

Do I need a wetsuit?

This is optional - the water at this time year will still be fairly cold and some prefer to wear one.

Please bring a warm layer of clothing to put on when you get out of the water.

Swim at your own risk. Please look out for one another in the water.
