*** INT. HIKE: SHORTHILLS PROVINCIAL PARK - 14 Km. ***

Join us on this great hiking adventure, to immerse yourself in the beautiful Ontario wilderness.

Located near St. Catharines, it is a 735-hectare day-use park that has six side trails along with the Bruce Trail, and contains three picturesque waterfalls. So, don’t forget your camera!

This park has both dense forests and open meadows, as well as meandering creeks and gentle hills that are perfect for strolling on.

While in the park, we will also enjoy the lush Carolinian forest that includes uncommon trees such as American chestnut, and paw paw, as well as the more common black walnut. The park also offers a rich flora and fauna, and we might be lucky enough to see white tailed deer, opossum, wild turkey, or red fox on our journey.

This is a moderate-pace hike, and we will take several short breaks along the way for snacks, sightseeing and lunch. Length: 14 Km.

DIFFICULTY LEVEL:
Intermediate -- Recent experience hiking 14 Km. or more required

WHAT TO BRING: Water (at least 1 L), lunch, hiking shoes/ boots, camera and cash for personal expenses.

POST-EVENT: Refreshments at a Bloor West pub in Toronto (OPTIONAL)

Weather Policy: In the event of harsh weather, this hike will be cancelled, and you will get a refund for your payment.
