Details
Travis is a former NASA Test and Design Engineer that was part of the first NASA team to hot-fire a metal 3D Printed rocket engine. He will explain why 3D printing is changing how the world brings products to market and why it is estimated to be a 37 Billion USD market by 2027.
Travis began his professional career as a wildland firefighter team lead in the Rocky Mountains of Montana. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering with 6+ years of experience at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center as an award-winning Liquid Propulsion Design and Test Engineer. He specialized in utilizing metal, polymer and resin additive manufacturing while at NASA and holds NASA patents in that field. After being chosen as a George J. Mitchell Scholar, he earned a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering from Trinity College Dublin, with a focus on Medical Device Design and earned his Private Pilot license during his time at NASA. He is currently the CTO of Starling Surgical, a Medical Device Start-Up based in Trinity College Dublin.
