weird poetry evening 🥴

is this evening for weird poetry or is this a poetry evening that's weird? why not both?

is the theme of your poetry NOT mainstream? like, is it about disability and unemployment or mathematics or a hero's journey through quantum mechanics in proteomics or it's a pantun about three trickster goblins in a trench coat trying to buy a burger?

or is it written in a bizarre way like e. e. cumming's ridiculous grasshopper?

do you want to verb the noun and adjective the preposition? "Words bounce. Words, if you let them, will do what they want to do and what they have to do."

in this session, we want to push the envelope, preferably off a cliff, but maybe let's not do that because that's littering, which is bad.

in this session, we want to push the boundaries of the written word, which is also an oral tradition, so it's a written oral tradition, which is confusing, isn't it?

do you remember in early hacker history some varsity kids tried to build a rocket or something in their dorm room and it exploded and set the place on fire? this. we want to do this. figuratively.

don't bring the "rosebuds-theme of centuries of verse". bring instead the madness that seethes within you, the irreconcilable energies that rend your soul in twain. mikey saw an angel in the marble and carved him out. we do not care for angels. we do not care for beauty! do you see a kuntinalak at the foot of your bed chastising you for not cleaning up your room? do you see a kinnari violating heaven's courtliness by nailing manifestos to the foreheads of unsmiling monarchs? do you dish doggerels about how we violate and and display the genitals of plants (flowers)? do you see an abstract chaos? vomit that fucker out.

to be clear, bring your poems and share them. and make them bloody bloomin' strange.

Venue

Usually few or nobody comes to my events. So, please do not just register on meetup. If you are really, really coming, text me directly to tell me. Then we figure out a venue. I will come out if at least one person wants to do this.

It will be probably be around Brommaplan though, because I can't be arsed to leave my neighbourhood. Unless you suggest a nice quiet place.
