What's the Motto...Hikers Hike!

This trail begins by following the red-blazed trail, though there are two side trails that follow the shore of Lake Proctor...The trail then follows the blue-blazed and orange-blazed detours from the red-blazed trail...The eastern portion of trail takes you through sand pine scrub, while the western portion is a pine-oak with palm hammock...The far eastern loop is a yellow-blazed trail that follows the power lines along the eastern border of the property...As Per Usual, We, of course, will creatively explore this one, in an effort to maximize the shaded areas, but also ensuring we cover 6 or 7 miles...About midway in the hike we will stop for a lunch/snack/hydration break...

I recommend comfortable walking/hiking shoes, Deep Woods bug spray, sunscreen, fluids for hydration, snacks/food, an umbrella/hat, and your spirit of adventure and fellowship, but we do live by the creed "Hike Your Way"...Be ready to get fresh air, exercise, engage in diverse conversations, and make some new Connections!!

Everyone thoroughly enjoys this venue due to seeing a large number of Gators (both along the Trails & in the water), and Birds, walking along the water, and the amazing trees...The plan is to only do 7 - 10 miles...There are Port-O-Potties in the parking area and restrooms in the Nature Center if needed.

I have heard of this Venue a number of times and now We will explore it for Ourselves....This is the white-blazed loop that is located at the Dallas Boulevard trailhead. There is a spur trail located at the southern section of this route, for those who wish to camp at the shelter. There is also group camping available there and a water source as well. Please do not swim or walk along the canals in this area as they are owned by the Ranger Drainage District and are closed to the public.
