Mount Massive - East Slopes

Let’s do Mount Massive - East Slopes (main route):

Note: my cell is 312-669-4795. Feel free to text me about camping the night before or anything else hike related. There is a tons of dispersed camping near the trailhead. I will be camping the night before.

• Date/dates: Sun, July 20th: Meeting at TH at 4:00 am. Will wait until 4:15 am and then we will leave. Weather looks good possible afternoon thunderstorms. Want to summit by 10 am, which will give us plenty of time

• TH: Mt. Massive TH

• Vehicle difficulty to TH: 2WD dirt to TH

• Length: 14.5 miles hiking

• Elevation gain: 4,500’

• Start time: 4 am from TH.

If anyone is interested in finding BLM land with me to camp the night before or carpooling, please let me know. l will leave 4:00 am from TH - will not wait past 4:15 am.

** I have done 22 CO 14ers so far and will finish them all as soon as possible. Goal at least 14 this summer. A bit above average speed going up and slower going down. As long as someone isn’t going so slow that we run into lightening in the afternoon, fine waiting from people as long as it’s not so slow it kills the momentum.
