Mount Herard (13er above The Great Sand Dunes)

Details
A mountain I’ve dreamed of climbing for years!…
Hi guys. My favorite place in the world is The Great Sand Dunes. When you’re there, there’s this big mountain off to your right. It’s very iconic and visually appealing. It’s a 13er named Mt Herard. I’ve always wanted to climb it to see that incredible view down to The Sand Dunes below!
10.3 mile hike
4200 feet of elevation gain
13,347ft summit
Easy class 3
NOTE: This is a wilderness 13er. There may or may not be much of a trail waiting for us (I’m not sure). There may also be “kinda” a trail or something like that, meaning an old abandoned trail covered in fallen trees and bushes and such. Be ready for some bushwhacking!
I've dropped a pin on part of the nearest highway. The road to get to where we're going is called Medano Primative Road and is very bumpy with some stream crossings. If peep's cars can't do it, let's meet at Watkins Gulch on route 69, find a place to park everyone's car, and then carpool in trucks and jeeps and such to the trailhead (my truck can fit 5).
