Discover this 10.7-mile out-and-back trail near Shawnee, Colorado. Generally considered a challenging route, it takes an average of 7 h 34 min to complete.

This is a popular trail for hiking, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day. The best times to visit this trail are June through October. Enjoy this awesome alpine hike up to Rosalie Peak.

At the summit, you can see Mount Blue Sky, Bierstadt, Squaretop, and other peaks. Some of the trails is steep and rocky. Keep an eye out for wildlife, as moose are often spotted on this trail. Parts of this route, especially above the tree line, are not well marked or marked only by cairns. It is recommended that you download your offline map ahead of time for this route.

Note: This hike is a conditioning hike for future 14er hikes. The distance and alt. gain have been chosen for this purpose. There is also significant scrambling involved to reach the peaks. If you are new to hiking 14ers, it is highly recommended that you do several lower altitude hikes to acclimate yourself.
