I’ve always wanted to climb those beautiful 13ers visible to the north of Crestone Needle. They’re absolutely gorgeous, especially as you’re driving home from Old South Colony Lakes road. This year might be my chance to finally!

The trip begins at Horn Creek trailhead. From there, we go up Little Horn first (13,154 ft), cross over to its VERY little-traveled neighbor Fluted Peak (13,576 ft), and finish the day by climbing up the epic and grand Horn Peak itself (13,454 ft) and then back down.

The loop is 11.5 miles and 5,600 ft of elevation.

PS: Someday I really want to make the even less explored traverse over to Mt Adams from Fluted. The photos of that route look so gorgeous. If people wanna do the Mt Adams traverse instead, I’m game! We’d need to park at both ends and make it a one-direction adventure instead of a loop. If you’d prefer the Mt Adams adventure, just let me know in the comments.
