Mt Zwischen

This is the big one.
This is a fairly insane wilderness trek.

I absolutely adore The Great Sand Dunes. They’re one of my favorite places in the world. For years I’ve dreamed of climbing the nearby surrounding mountains and seeing the amazing view looking down on The Dunes.

I’ve looked down on them from super far away (Crestones) and more recently I’ve seen them from the summit of Mt Herard, but in both of those cases, you spend the whole day climbing a normal mountain and then only at the top, you finally get to see The Dunes.

Mt Zwischen will be completely different. It’s a trail-less wilderness peak where the ENTIRE ridgeline has you looking down on The Sand Dunes as you walk! It’s a long long way (17 miles maybe?) and will involve a ton of bushes and fallen trees and crap. I can’t promise it’ll be easy. But it will be GORGEOUS!
