What we’re about

Shadowdark is a new TTRPG which blends Old School Renaisance (OSR) style rules with the modern mechanics of D&D 5e. Characters are heroes rather than superheroes and there is a high level of danger. I would like to run a West Marches style campaign set in a home brewed fantasy noir world. We will meet at the Wheaton Community Recreation Center.
There is an active Call of Cthulhu campaign lurking within the group, and others welcome. Contact the group leader.

The Old Ones ruled the earth aeons before the rise of humanity. Traces of their cyclopean cities can still be found on remote islands, buried amid the shifting desert sands, and in the frozen wastes of the polar extremes. Originally they came to this world from the stars. They sleep now, some deep within the earth or beneath the sea. When the stars are right they shall again walk the earth.

The Call of Cthulhu Roleplaying game is a horror-themed RPG set in the late 1920s using elements from the works of H.P. Lovecraft. Interested in learning how to play or are already familiar with the system and want to dive into a new adventure? Join us for a bi-weekly one-shot!

Players of any experience level are welcome to join! I will go over how to play this system at the start of the adventure.

What to bring:
- Standard RPG dice set will work for Call of Cthulhu
- Pen and paper for note-taking

Shadowdark RPG Level 1 Adventure: "The Tomb of the Dusk Queen" (Part I)

What You'll Need:
1. (Optional) The Shadowdark RPG Core Rulebook or a downloaded copy of the free Player Quickstart Guide.
2. Character sheets: Player characters should be level 1. I will have pre-generated level-1 character sheets available for use. Players can also roll up their own (level 1) character at the [Shadowdarklings.net](https://shadowdarklings.net/create) Character Creation page: select "Random 1", "Best Fit" and limit to the four core classes (fighter, priest, thief, wizard). Please bring an extra copy of your character sheets to share with me. An additional backup character is recommended.
3. (Optional) You can bring physical dice or use the VTT built-in dice roller.
