Inaugural Ride of the Season!
Details
Join us on our inaugural ride of the season! Consider this an easy social ride to get back on the bike (if you haven't already!) and make sure things are in good working order before the season gets fully underway. We'll be riding the Larkspur Trail and Canal trails.
Ride facts:
- Route: We'll begin our ride at Pilot Butte, ride the Larkspur trail, hop over to a canal trail, then stop at Axel's tacos for a quick bite and chat about this season's rides, then ride the same route back. 5.5 miles there, with the option to take the same route back for 11 miles, or take a shorter/faster route back if it's getting too dark! Here's a link to the route: https://www.trailforks.com/ridelog/planner/view/674372/
- Terrain: Paved trails, packed dirt, some loose gravel and sand on canal trails, sidewalk/street. Some road crossings. Mostly flat or gentle slopes. Look at Trailforks or BendTrails beforehand to learn about trails and terrain.
- Yielding: Pull over for faster riders. Ding bell if coming up on someone slower and to give pedestrians notice. Uphill travelers have right of way.
- Bring: Water, $ for a drink/taco @ Axels. Bright clothing encouraged since we're crossing Reed Market. All riders encouraged to carry a pack with supplies for flats/injuries. Be prepared!
By participating in a group ride you agree to take ownership and liability for yourself and your bike at all times and do not hold accountable Wheezy Riders or any group member. All participants must wear helmets, no exceptions. Ride at your own risk.
About Wheezy Riders: We are a Mountain biking group for people who want to have fun and not suck wind and feel like they're dying or falling behind the whole time. We have nothing to prove here! We go at a slower/social pace, stop when a group member needs it, and don't leave people behind.
