It's time to goth it up and party like you're Poe! We've listened to your feedback throughout the last year and devised a special event specifically crafted for your pleasure! "NEVERMORE!" is our very own gothic/Edgar Allan Poe themed masquerade featuring a full burlesque show and open mic poetry reading. Whatever you do, don't miss this!! YELLOW EVENT

BOTTOMS UP Burlesque brings us our very own dark and twisted gothic burlesque show! Seven different performers will light up our stage, each with their own unique and spectacular act - ranging from the elegantly noir to the insane and darkly exotic!
OPEN MIC 'POE-ETRY' READING:
After the burlesque...
Choose an excerpt from a poem or short story by Edgar Allan Poe and sign-up to do a 2-3 min prepared reading. You can do a reading in pairs or in a group if you like but you must organise this yourself.
If you'd like to be part of this, please let us know on the message board below so we can put your name down. Tell us what you'll be reading so we don't end up with everyone doing the same thing

COSTUME COMPETITION:
This is, of course, a costumed event and there will be prizes for the best dressed. The competition will be run and judged by the BOTTOMS UP Burlesque who are experts when it comes to costumes!
Come dressed in an Edgar Allan Poe themed costume: Black cats, ravens, fragile gothic ladies, lost lovers, dead things, madmen, ghosts, mummies, the Red Death, jesters, detectives, period dress, or come as the man himself! or just wear something that reflects the dark and sinister mood.
FOOD AND DRINKS:
The Wilde will serve us up delicious finger foods and drinks will be available for purchase at the bar.
AN EXTRA LITTLE SOMETHING...
Body Artist, Roslyn, will be ready with her paints and brush to add a little extra flourish to your costume as you arrive. Here's the tip, though! there is only one of her and many of us so, if you would like this little extra treat, be one of the first to arrive - at 7:30pm sharp!

A bell (bells will be used when its time for the next segment of the evening or to announce the beginning of a performance) If you don't have one, bells can be bought at most $2 variety stores.
THE VENUE:
Yes, we do get the irony of having a Poe themed event at a place called 'The Wilde'! The space fits the mood of our event beautifully and is easy to get to. The number 86 tram stops right out the front.
We have the upstairs function space to ourselves and can feel free to wander downstairs to the main bar as we like to frighten the locals with our scary Poe-esque masks and costumes! Entertainment will go on in our private function space.
