Whidbey Island Code & Coffee Meetup ☕💻
Details
☕ Code & Coffee Whidbey Island – Now at The Book Rack! 📚
New time: Saturdays, 1–3 PM
Location: The Book Rack, Oak Harbor — in the cozy café area
Whether you're coding solo or looking to connect with fellow devs, makers, or tech-curious creatives, Code & Coffee is a welcoming, low-pressure co-working hangout for all skill levels. Just bring a laptop or notebook and come as you are!
🆕 What’s New:
We’re now meeting at The Book Rack — Oak Harbor’s indie bookshop with a side of café charm.
Grab a warm drink, find a table, and feel free to browse for holiday gift ideas while you're here (book nerds and stocking stuffers, rejoice!). It's the perfect cozy vibe for a community coding session.
The new time — Saturday afternoons from 1–3 PM — lets you sleep in, run errands, and still caffeinate without cutting into your evening.
🌀 What Happens at Code & Coffee?
We kick off with an Intro Circle at 12:30 PM (totally optional, but encouraged for newcomers!):
- Quick Round (7 sec max):
- Your name
- What you’re working on
- What you can help others with
- Job & Opportunity Shoutouts:
- Hiring? Looking? Announce it!
- Community Events:
- Got one to plug? Let us know.
After intros, it's all self-organized: co-work, chat, get help, offer advice, or just sip and vibe.
🎯 This Month’s Focus: Coding with AI
We’re introducing optional themes to explore each session — and this one’s a banger:
Tools, Agents, Environments & Generative Code
- What’s the best thing you’ve built with LLMs or agents?
- What tools are you using for local vs. cloud workflows?
- Want to talk Cloudflare’s AI Gateway, model routing, or secrets management? Your host can help!
- Share your workflows, environments, and setups.
🎃 Special Event: Hacktoberfest 2025
We’re also participating in Hacktoberfest!
Find an open-source project to contribute to, ask for help navigating repos, or brainstorm your first PR.
