This is a group for LGBT+ to have an opportunity to meet for outdoor activities in the Whitehorse, Yukon area. Visitors and locals welcome.
If you don't self identify as LGBT+, please respect the need for spaces for unique spaces for us. Please join with a photo. This is due to multiple instances where individuals with objectives not in alignment with LGBT+ rights have joined events and/or communicated with members.
I've found that the most demand is for casual walks with more of a social objective. I'm scheduling one walk in an area accessible by bus in Whitehorse monthly - usually in the downtown area.
I'll also schedule some events further out of town requiring higher fitness levels approximately quarterly.
This group does not receive any funding as an organization, nor publicly support any specific political objectives. Any guests of members must also join the group.
RSVP to events appreciated, but not required. If there are no RSVP’s, however, I may or may not be there.
Well behaved, non reactive dogs welcome.
Donations to help cover the Meetup account appreciated. I don't send out announcements for events, so check back regularly for changes. If you take photos at events including people, please don't post on your socials without permission from them. I don't post photos of people from events here.
