June 17th Mushroom Walk

Hosted By

Details
Cost: $5 donation suggested but not required.
Where: Heald Pond Trail Head, 95 Slab City Rd., Lovell, ME
What: With all this rain there should be a good variety of mushrooms popping up soon. Let's see what fungi we can find and identify along these trails at Heald Pond in Lovell. We'll talk about the toxic, medicinal, edible, or other cool properties of the stuff we collect. Two of the better edibles we may encounter here are oyster mushrooms and chicken of the woods.
Bring a basket for collecting.
When coming from route 5 onto Slab City Rd., the parking lot is on left just after bridge and boat launch. Look for a small green GLLT sign.
