Free community summer dance classes in Anchorage!
Classes are open to ages 16 (some 18, as indicated) through adult.
Pulse Dance Company is a non-profit adult performing arts organization that values what the arts bring to our community. The company aims to make joyful classes accessible to as many people as possible each summer.
You'll meet several of our Season 17 performing artists as they lead open, non-intimidating community classes in various movement styles.

June 7 - Open/Intermediate Level Contemporary with PDC company artist Regina Pilkus
Dance your heart out with visceral contemporary choreo set to driving music. Prior dance experience recommended. Bare feet or socks recommended.
June 14 - Total Intro to Jazz with PDC company artist Brittany Petry
Slink, strut, and jazz hands your way to Broadway. Beginner friendly! Bare feet or jazz slippers welcome.
June 21 - Total Intro to Hip Hop
Designed to help new movers learn foundational grooves, rhythm, and basic steps in a no-pressure, fun environment! Clean, indoor sneakers or barefeet welcome.
June 28 - Ballet Basics with PDC company artist August
Move through some of the introductory elements of ballet - alignment, terminology, and an overview of common exercises! Socks or ballet slippers welcome.

July 12 - Open/Intermediate Jazz with PDC company artist Regina Pilkus
Unleash your power in this commercial dance-influenced jazz class focusing on musicality. Bare feet or jazz slippers.
July 19 - “Bodied” Dance Fitness with PDC company artist Kelsey
Shake what ya mama gave ya in this cardio-focused, fun-filled, follow-along dance class that’ll burn your booty, werk your core, then stretch it out.
July 26 - Intro to Burlesque with PDC company artist Lee Ann
The final offering in our free community series, this sultry class will spice up your life with empowering choreography. Learn how to strut and slink, pose, and… seduce. Boogie with fab ladies ages 18+, beginner friendly! Heels optional.

- Register in advance to help instructors best plan your experience.
- If you must cancel, do so prior to the class date to open up your spot for other interested participants.
