Cultivating Laughter, Song & Dance: Letting Go of Being Cool & In Control

Details

Summer... the time of laughter, joy and being carefree! Or at least it is for some people. So the question is...have you been a little more fun this summer? Have you let go a bit? And if you haven't- what's stopping you?

The truth is fun and carefree aren't just reserved for summer - all our days can be filled with more laughter, song and dance! But often we are to worried about looking good and being in control.

If "a good belly laugh, singing at the top of your lungs, and dancing like no one is looking are unquestionably good for the soul", what gets in the way? Well of course - it's our good friend, VULNERABILITY! Our shame gremlins are constantly there to make sure that self-expression (singing, laughing, dancing...to name a few) take a backseat to self-protection and self-consciousness. We miss out on so much of life trying to be cool and in control.

As we get ready to say goodbye to summer - let's intentionally practice taking a more carefree (and less controlled) attitude into the rest of the year! Why should summer have all the fun!
