What we’re about

This group is the home of a six-week, virtual discussion group that focuses on the philosophical problem of evil by covering a comprehensive introductory curriculum using excerpts of academic philosophy papers from the leading thinkers on this topic.

Participants that miss more than one of the virtual meetings will be asked to drop and restart in a future course with a different cohort.

People of all religious faiths (or those without any religions commitments) are welcome to join. Disruption of the discussion, denigration of other people or faiths, or domination of the conversation are not permitted. Muting or blocking will be used as needed.

Cohorts are from between six and twelve people. Each week at least two people will be required to participate vocally until everyone has participated. Sessions include time for prayer/shared reflection. Prayers can occur in the form the speaker believes is appropriate (within reason). People not wishing to pray (such as atheists) can share a reflection they had during or because of that week's reading.

In short, it's basically a mixture of a church small group and a six week 100 level college discussion group focused on one problem. If that sounds fun to you, come join.
