Hike at Penitentiary Glen
Details
Penitentiary Glen got its name from early 1800 settlers because the deep gorge is so steep that it was difficult to get out of, like a penitentiary.
In the early 1900’s it was the summer home of the Halle’s (Halle Bros.), who also made it a working farm.
The hike starts at 9:30 & will begin at the parking lot, near the train and playground. The hike will be around 4.5 miles, with a shorter option (~3) available.
Lunch will be at Tavern 6
7592 Euclid Chardin Rd (route 6) Kirtland.
Please comment if you plan to eat with us. We HAVE a room reserved, but they asked to give them advance notice so they can schedule properly.
