First Meetup - Basildon Vue, Film TBC

Welcome to the Wickford Film Lovers Meetup Group.

I wanted to create something low-key but social for anyone in their 20s, 30s, or 40s who enjoys films and socializing.

I studied film at uni and I’m totally happy going to the cinema solo — but it’s always better with good company. Think of this as a film club with pub chats, kind of like a book club but for movies.

Here’s the idea:
🎥 Every couple of weeks, we’ll vote on a film
📍 I’ll do a group booking at a local cinema (Southend, Basildon, or nearby)
🍻 Afterwards, we’ll head to a nearby pub for drinks and discussion

No pressure, no film snobbery — just people who love stories and want to connect. If you're new to the area, shy, or just looking for something different to do, you’re welcome.
