Writers Helping Writers
·OnlineOnlineWriters Helping Writers in a new initiative of Women in Film & Video led by WIFV Board Member, Lisa Scott. It is a virtual table read of scripts written by WIFV members.
We read:
-
1—24 pages from a short script
-
The first Act or to the Inciting Incident from a feature length script, up to page 24
-
Full half hour sitcom or Half of full our TV show
The purpose is to give deep dive, constructive feedback on story structure, format, character, dialogue, and what works about the script.
If you don't have a script to read feel free to join us and support your fellow members. It is a great way to expand your knowledge on script writing and giving feedback also helps you to look at your own scripts objectively.Feedback will be given in a controlled fashion. We will break the discussions down by category: concept and theme, story structure and format, character and dialogue.
If you are a WIFV member and would like to submit your script for review, please send your (proofread) pages in pdf format with a cover title page that includes your logline and list of characters to: LisaScottScriptwriter@gmail.com
We review one script per session. Script reviews are scheduled in the order scripts are received. We request that you attend at least two sessions before you submit a script for review.
Each person who participates is asked to be prepared to use your camera in the Zoom meeting so we can see you and network with you.
We will record the feedback portion of the session and provide it to the writer only.
You will receive the login information with your registration confirmation.
