When Zooey Zephyr was expelled from the Montana House of Representatives for speaking on a bill banning transgender medical care, she made a nearby bench her "office." Director Kimberly Reed's cameras land next to Zooey, capturing shocking, funny, and joyous events. The film was shortlisted for a 2025 Academy Award nomination in the ‘Documentary Short' category

Kimberly Reed is an American film director and producer who is best known for her documentaries PRODIGAL SONS and DARK MONEY which premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival. In 2007, Filmmaker magazine named her one of the "25 New Faces of Independent Film."

The next films in the mid-term film series are RESISTERHOOD by CJ Crim (August 26) and BREAKING THE WEST by Bridget Hunnicutt (September 9), the filmmakers will join us to discuss their films! On October 14 we will discuss WHAT THE CONSTITUTION MEANS TO ME by Marielle Heller who is unable to join us as she is on set that day for a new film!
