We will explore THE LAST WITCH: It's Never Too Late for Justice, a documentary which chronicles the efforts of a middle school classroom petitioning the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to right a wrong and exonerate Elizabeth Johnson Jr. - sentenced to death for the crime of Witchcraft. Johnson was the last remaining person still accused of Witchcraft from the 1692 Salem trials.
With interviews of descendants of the accused and the optimistic efforts of middle school students and their teacher, we will delve into how a classroom project took on a life of its own. Telling a well-known story in a new way and showing how its messages are still relevant in our own time. Storytelling at its best! Joining us for the Roundtable will be Director/Writer Annika Hylmö Ph.D, Co-Producer Bergitte Jorgensen, and Editor Elika Rezaee, women whose international backgrounds help shape the film.
