FORAGING: WILD FOOD AND USEFUL PLANTS
Details
Pre-Registration Required (see link below)
We will walk along a stream-side area, seeing both native and introduced plants.
You will learn about edible plants, medicinal plants, various useful plants, and even some poisonous plants.
You’ll learn how to identify and collect foods, medicines, soaps, fire-materials, and other useful parts of plants. You’ll learn to think like foragers of the past, who had to have an intimate knowledge of the seasons, and foresight for the future.
Join us for an insightful walk into a wild area, with a focus on interpreting the useful plants of the area.
Though we’re in a dry season now, you will still see the many trees and native shrubs that are useful, and many of the natives and non-natives that provide food and medicine.
Dress comfortably and bring water. The trail will be more or less flat.
Location sent after registration.
$65 [seniors/students $45).
