Wanna join a women only group run/walk each Saturday morning at Kiwanis?
We'll be meeting on the north side of the lake (check the map specifically as there are A LOT of places you could park for Kiwanis access. We are meeting at the lake at the bottom of the path that leads from the parking lot on the north side.) From there you can either do laps around the lake (each lap is .8 mile) or run on the canal trail that runs parallel to the park and lake (you could run on that system for 40 miles if you wanted to.)
Per the weekly mileage this group will officially be training for a Turkey Trot (or other late November race of your choice) but you don't need to have any interest in that, you can just meet up for whatever time or distance works for you. The goals of this group are community and accountability, not pace or distance 😊
If you do want to be a little more committed to the specific goals of running your first (or first in awhile) 5k or 10k I'll be giving weekly recommendations for distance and run/walk ratios.
Obviously you can race whichever Turkey Trot is in your neighborhood (or the neighborhood you'll be in for Thanksgiving) but I'm running the Mesa Turkey Trot linked here:
