Cuckoo! A 42 Mile Ride Through The Lovely Kent & West Sussex Countryside

Details
This is a super day out starting near Crawley the ride meanders down to the south coast. This 42 mile ride is flat all the way and follows partially metalled trials.
We meet at Three Bridges station for a 10am start. Leaving Three Bridges Station we cycle to East Grinstead along the traffic free Worth Way and then through the Forest Way Country Park. This takes us onto Groombridge where there is a steam event taking place on the Spa Valley Railway. Although details of the event are still vague we should see some steam trains passing through the station. We stop for lunch at the Kings Arms pub in Rotherfield after 24 miles, the pub has great food renowned for their bacon sandwiches and the dwindling herd of tame pigs in the beer garden. The route then continues on through Eridge and Mayfield before joining the traffic free Cuckoo Trail at Heathfield. The Cuckoo trail then takes us along another disused railway line all the way to Polegate, near Eastbourne. At Polegate we hop on an obliging the train around 16.30 ish to Clapham Junction.
The fee for this ride is £4 payable on the day.
