River & Ridge

This is a super circular ride from Reading taking you down gravel tracks following the Thames and then high onto the Ridgeway with fantastic views across three counties.

For those going by train we catch the 8.40 train from Twickenham arriving Reading at 9.43.

If you are on my train please follow me to St Peter's Church on the north side of Caversham Bridge for a 10am departure from St. Peter's Church, The Warren, Reading RG4 7TH. If you are coming by car there's some useful parking 100m or so down the road from St.Peter's Church.
We start the day by cycling 10 miles along the Thames to Goring where we stop for a takeaway coffee. From Goring we cycle a further 5 miles up onto the Berkshire Downs following the Ridgeway then down to Aldworth where we stop for lunch at The Bell pub. From there it's a further 13 miles by road back to Reading Station.We should be back at Reading around 4.30.
