YOU DECIDE: IMBER RANGE OR SHOREHAM? PUT YOUR NAME DOWN FOR THE RIDE YOU WANT TO DO ON JUNE 28th.
This is a fun 33 mile gravel ride on the Imber Range Perimeter Path a gravel cyclist's 'must do'. We meet in Warminster at the Central Car Park in Station Road at 10am. The entrance to the car park is in Station Road opposite Lidl (Postcode: BA12 9AA, £5.60 all day via MiPermit App). There are varous coffee shops in the shopping centre near the car park for those who want their fix. We leave the car park and head about 1Km north to join the Imber Range Perimeter Path. Closed to the public for 60 years the MoD have now opened it up as a rideable route for cyclists. The Imber Perimeter Path allows uninterrupted access around this beautiful landscape, while keeping users safe from military training – including live firing and tactical movements by tanks. Surfaces vary from tarmac and gravel tracks to grassy byways. It’s a great gravel bike route full of fascinating archaeological landmarks, with views stretching for miles. I have made a diversion off the route to accomodate a pub lunch at The Churchill Arms in West Lavington.
After lunch we'll continue around the Perimeter Path with great its great views and sites on interest arriving back at Warminster around 5pm.
A FEE OF £4 APPLIES PAYABLE ON THE DAY
TAKE WATER WITH YOU AS IT'S A REMOTE ROUTE AND IT MAY BE HOT
