This is a great off-road ride on the borders of West Sussex and Surrey on the northern-most part of the South Downs National Park. It takes in some lovely scenery from the highest point on the South Downs to the forest tracks of the Shipwrights Way is 50% off-road and 50% country lanes.
We aim to start the ride promptly at 10.00 so please try and get to Haslemere 9.30 ish to allow for parking. This ride takes us west of Haslemere starting and ending at Haslemere Station takes in some great South Downs tracks and country roads. Those who want to take a car please meet at Haslemere Station at 9.30. From Haslemere we head up to the highest point in the South Downs National Park at the National Trust's Black Down and find the Temple of The Winds, much loved by Tennyson for its stunning views over four counties and may even see the sea glinting through the Shoreham Gap. Then we head towards Liss where we stop for lunch at a community run cafe after 16 miles. Then we continue our ride along the Shipwrights Way to Liphook and ending at Haslemere to complete the loop.
