Getting back to our off-road roots this is a circular ride starting and ending in Henley on Thames. It takes in 3 trails: the Chiltern Way, the Ridgeway and the Oxfordshire way. It's a mountain biking route covering 30 miles through the Chilterns National Landscape. The Chilterns is renowned for its Bluebell woods and this is prime time to see magnificent carpets of blue set against the fresh green backdrop of Spring foliage. A fabulous sight!

We meet outside Henley on Thames station at 10am. Henley is a beautiful riverside town with great rail connections to London. The best train route from London is via Paddington with a journey time of 49m and returns available from around £17. There is a car park at the station which charges £4 a day using the APCOA app.

From the get go this is a diverse and scenic mountain biking experience through the picturesque countryside and beech woodlands of the Chiltern Hills. The route features undulating terrain with epic downhill and punchy climbs, offering expansive views of the Chilterns Valley.

After 15 miles we stop for lunch at the Spire & Spoke pub at Watlington.
This pub is famous for its Pizzas which are cooked in a wood fired oven in the garden. It has lots of outside seating options and is perfect for cyclists with great views of the Red Kites circulating above awaiting the next cycling casualty.

Afte lunch we continue our ride along the Ridgeway towards Stokenchurch before heading south towards Henley. We should be back at Henley around 4.30 and may partake of a swift half at the Angel on the Bridge before heading home.
