Bedwell Lakes trail in Strathcona Provincial Park is 10.0-km out-and-back trail with campsites at Baby Bedwell and Bedwell Lakes. Recent trail reports indicate that “part of the trail to Baby Bedwell was still snow covered and trail to Bedwell also snow covered however was boot packed and easy to navigate”. The Bedwell Lake to Cream Lake section seems to be under snow (shin deep) and may or may not be doable. The micro spikes may or may not needed, but good to keep handy.

**HIGH-LEVEL PLAN:**

* June 20 (FRIDAY) – start driving from Victoria late in the afternoon (\~3:30pm), camp overnight closer to the trailhead (TBD).
* June 21 (SATURDAY) – hike up to the Bedwell Lake and camp overnight.
* June 22 (SUNDAY) – hike back to the trailhead and return to Victoria by evening.

Backcountry permit fees ($10 per adult nightly backcountry camping fees) must paid to BC Parks ([https://camping.bcparks.ca/](https://camping.bcparks.ca/))

Each backpacker is expected to be self-sufficient with all necessary gear for this backpacking trip.

3. Everyone needs to pay their share of the cost for the overnight camping and any applicable permit fee from BC Parks. For those doing carpool, the fuel cost will be shared between all the people sharing the car ride.
4. **DISCLAIMER**
Events are led by volunteers who have no special training such as first aid, survival, etc. Participants are expected to be self-sufficient and competent hikers who accept the risks and hazards associated with an outdoor activity, along with the regular use of rough and steep trails in isolated areas and adverse conditions.
