Life resting beneath the soil now reaches joyfully toward the surface
and the sunlight. With a shifting mood and a quickening rhythm,
a new cycle begins.
What dream seeds did you carry throughout the winter?
What prayer seeds will you plant this spring?
As we transition from winter to spring, let us gather our hopes and dreams,
and let us come together in ceremony.
Together, let us plant our seeds of loving energy
for the healthy balance of all life.

THE CORN CIRCLE (Description)
The Corn Circle, or Mahwahteii ceremony, is the original and most frequently done
of the Stone Circle’s ancient group of sacred ceremonies of Life. It was given in “the
before time” to peoples all over the world. It is generally celebrated at least once in
each moon cycle. It may also be done at any time by request and for special purposes.
In each part of the world the Mah-wah-teii Ceremony has been celebrated with the
staff of life specific to that region: in China: rice, in the Americas: corn, and every-
where in its basic form: drawn into the earth itself.
There are additional ceremonies for all passages of life. These ceremonies also are led
by authorized Stone carriers familiar with them.
The coming Corn Circle will be led by a Stone carrier authorized by Shanadii, an
*Apashu/*Apache Grandmother, the Ah-tah-sho-mah for the North American continent.
There are 32 Ah-tah-sho-mahs around the world. They carry responsibility to
maintain and pass on the teachings and to support the ways of the Stone Circle among
the people who choose to walk this path.
The Mah-wah-teii Ceremony is focused on healing and balancing. Everyone is en-
couraged to bring your yearnings for healing and balance for any situation, for beings
of all relations, your dear ones, for yourself, and place them into the ceremony.
The Ceremony is done in North America as a cornmeal and sand drawing that depicts
our multi-dimensional reality. It celebrates all that is, including Mother Earth, the four
directions, the eight relations and more. Each phase of the Corn Circle represents an-
other aspect of Creation. The interrelationships between them become more and more
perceptible as the Ceremony continues.
The Mah-wah-teii Ceremony carries our love and our gratitude to all of these facets
that create and transcend the physical in their interconnections.
A fire is kindled in the latter phase of the Ceremony representing the Light of Creator,
which permeates everything. A simple, gentle drumbeat supports the ceremony.
Everyone sits in a circle that may be indoors or outdoors. The Ceremony is often in-
teractive and people may be invited to participate.
Following the ceremony’s completion, the grains of corn meal and sand carry our
prayers, our love and our blessings as we give them back to our Earth Mother and all
our relations.
The Corn Circle Ceremony is sacred. While questions may be addressed during
teaching ceremonies, appropriate, respectful balance is very important. Casual con-
versations and side remarks are best held for later.
Still, this is a gentle Way. As Oh-mah-tah Shanadii often told us,
"Laughter is music in Creator's ears!”
