Plants have many uses, and this class focuses on their color-producing pigments. From the whole plant, flowers, tree bark, teas, and even fruits and vegetables, it's amazing the variety of colors and shades nature provides for dyeing.
In this class, you will learn about which plants yield colors. We will explore the plant dyeing process and different techniques, as well as how to prepare different materials/textiles (wool, cotton, silk) for dyeing. You will take part in making the dye bath (a few different colors/plants used) to dye different materials, and which includes a bandanna for you to take home! This class is informative and hands-on, expressing nature's colorful and useful bounty.
