Wilderness Wonderland Adventures invites adventurers of all experience levels on all-inclusive backpacking adventures in GA, the Southeast, and beyond. There is no need to buy expensive gear, plan the trek, or worry about logistics or safety; we've got you covered. Just show up with your clothes, a good pair of boots or trail shoes, and an adventurous spirit, and we will lead you on a fun, educational, and empowering adventure. By removing the barriers to backpacking (gear, trip planning, security), we make it easy for you to explore all of nature while promoting self-reliance, wellness, and adventure.
While adventuring, you will learn the skills to navigate and enjoy the great outdoors safely, such as fire starting, food preparation and storage, tenting and sheltering, and first aid (see the complete list below). With the uncertainty we see in the world, being more self-reliant will increase your confidence and ability to navigate whatever may come.

## Overview
Discover the beauty of Panther Creek Falls, one of Georgia's most fantastic waterfalls and wilderness areas. A very popular outdoor destination, Panther Creek Falls features a heavy flowing creek along the trail, offering an awe-inspiring hike and plenty of zen. This 1-night/2-day backpacking trip will introduce you to the joys of backpacking, while minimizing the barriers to entry (backpacking gear, planning, security, and logistics). All you have to do is show up with a good pair of hiking boots or trail shoes, meals, and clothes, and we will take care of the rest. In addition to learning the fundamentals of backpacking and discovering the beauty of the wilderness, you will learn basic survival skills and commune this your fellow campers around a warm campfire, allowing you to disconnect and recharge.

## Trip Details
- Day 1 – Hiking distance: 2.5 miles to campsite; an additional 0.5 mile to waterfall (plus 0.5 mile back to camp).
- Day 2 – Hiking distance: 2.5 miles to car.
- Total hiking distance: 6 miles
- Driving time from Atlanta to trailhead: 1hr 40min
- Maximum reservations available: 8-10 backpackers
- Minimum required for trip: 4 backpackers (If the minimum is not met, you will be contacted 1 week before the trip to discuss options.)
- Difficulty: (Moderate) This is a beginner to intermediate level backpacking trip with some steep ascents, descents, rocky and rooty terrain, and creek crossings. You will be expected to carry your own backpacking gear (between 25-30 pounds) for 1-1.5 hours each day as we hike to our campsite and out. Hiking boots or sturdy trail shoes are required.

## Overview
Providence Canyon, known as Georgia's "Little Grand Canyon," features massive 150ft gullies with brilliant colors of pink, orange, red, and purple that very Instagram-worthy. This 1-night/2-day trip starts on the rim of the canyon, where we will hike about 2-3 miles along the backcountry trail loop to our campsite over relatively flat terrain. After setting up camp we will continue hiking the backcountry trail along the edges of the canyon which will allow some great photo opportunities. We will then have the option to explore the bottom of the canyon on Saturday if time permits or wait until Sunday on the hike out of camp.
In addition to learning the fundamentals of backpacking and discovering the beauty of the wilderness, you will learn basic survival skills and commune this your fellow campers around a warm campfire, allowing you to disconnect and recharge.***

- Day 1 – Hiking distance: 2.5 miles to campsite; an additional 2-4 miles exploring the canyon.
- Day 2 – Hiking distance: 2.5 miles to car.
- Total hiking distance: 10-12 miles (depending on exploration)

- Maximum reservations available: 10 backpackers

- Difficulty: (Easy/moderate) This is a beginner to intermediate level backpacking trip with some modest ascents, descents, over well-maintained trails. You will be expected to carry your own backpacking gear (between 25-30 pounds) for 1-1.5 hours each day as we hike to our campsite and out. Hiking boots or sturdy trail shoes are recommended.

## Overview
**Updated** Discover the legendary Appalachian Trail! Springer Mountain marks the beginning of the Appalachian Trail that stretches continuously for 2,190-miles to Mount Katahdin in Maine, and traversing 14 states. Our hike will begin at Amicalola Falls – a magnificent 729-foot waterfall that’s the third-highest cascading waterfall east of the Mississippi River. We will then take Appalacian Approach Trail towards Springer Mountain, then take the Len Foote Trail back towards Amicalola State Park. All the while, we will be able to commune with those who are starting their journeys to backpack the entire Appalachian Trail.
This 1-night/2-day backpacking trip will introduce you to the joys of backpacking, while minimizing the barriers to entry (backpacking gear, planning, security, and logistics). This is a "through hike" meaning we will finish in a different location than we started. All you have to do is show up with a good pair of hiking boots or trail shoes, meals, and clothes, and we will take care of the rest. In addition to learning the fundamentals of backpacking and discovering the beauty of the wilderness, you will learn basic survival skills and commune this your fellow campers around a warm campfire, allowing you to disconnect and recharge.***

- Day 2 – Hiking distance: Approximately 6.4 miles to return to the trailhead
- Total hiking distance: 9.9 miles

- Maximum reservations available: 8 backpackers
- Minimum required for trip: 4 backpackers (If the minimum is not met, you will be contacted 1 week before the trip to discuss options.)
- Difficulty: (Strenuous) This is an intermediate level backpacking trip with some steep ascents, descents, rocky and rooty terrain, and creek crossings. You will be expected to carry your own backpacking gear (between 25-30 pounds) for 2 hours on the first day as we hike to our campsite and about 3.5 hours on the second day. Hiking boots or sturdy trail shoes are required.

Blood Mountain is the Appalachian Trail’s highest summit in Georgia. This adventure starts at Lake Winfield Scott, and follows Slaughter Creek trail to the campsite. From the campsite, we will follow Slaughter Creek trail and the Appalachian Trail to the top of Blood Mountain. After taking in the majestic views, will will return to camp for an afternoon and evening of learning, communing, and fun.
