Knots & Shelter Building

Show up when you can. The meet up will be head at the Boch Park Shelter. It’s near the playground which is easier to see.

1:00 - 2:00 Top Knots for Camping, Backpacking, Wilderness Survival trips. Bowline, Trucker's Hitch, Clove Hitch, Cow Hitch, Timber Hitch, Tauntline Hitch.

The focus will be on knots for a shelter set up - first. If time allows we will add more knots to the session.

Please bring a piece of 25 foot paracord if you would like to practice setting up a ridgeline. A three foot rope will work for some of the knots.

2:00 - 3:00 Shelter Building With Tarps. Various ways to set up a tarp. It would be great to have a few people bring their favorite backpacking tent or tarp shelter.

Bring your favorite tarp and stakes to practice.

There is a $10 fee to help cover the costs of the rental.

Please note no smoking or alcohol is allowed at this Park District Shelter.
