HAMPSHIRE: BEACON HILL CIRCULAR WANDER

Details
Sunday 22nd of June. Walk will start at 11am. The meeting point is at Beaconhill Beeches Car Park postcode SO32 3LJ
Walk Details: setting off from Beacon Hill, a beauty spot and site of scientific interest we will enjoy stunning views across the Solent and of Old Winchester Hill. We will descend into the Meon Valley to the pretty village of Exton, head along the former Meon Valley Railway line to Warnford to see the watercress beds before a stiff climb back up Beacon Hill
The walk is 10km across undulating terrain with some steep descents and climbs, there are several stiles to cross and the footpaths will be a mix but with some quite uneven pathways.
What to bring: some sturdy footwear and weather appropriate clothing. Parts of this walk are very steep on rough ground so please do ensure you are wearing something suitable on your feet. If it’s been wet it will be muddy.
The weather is quite changeable at the moment so please consider that when deciding what to bring!
Please bring your own refreshments. There are two pubs on route, we will most likely stop at the George and Falcon for a drink before we head back up Beacon Hill.
Well behaved dogs are welcome
Please remember that when attending you walk at your own and you are voluntarily participating in these activities, and assume all risk of injury to yourself.
The walk will take between 2 and 2.5 hours maybe a little longer depending on how long we stop at the pub for!! Parking is free but it does get busy so please park responsibly.
