Bray Pit meadow raking

Details

On Saturday 6th September join Windsor & Maidenhead Conservation Volunteers (WMCV.org) to rake the meadow at Bray Pit. WE'll be there whatever the weather! This has been a joint WMCV/WM task for the last few years.

Bray Pit is a small nature reserve off the A308 between Bray Sailing Lake and the M4. This long-established Nature Reserve between Bray Lake and the M4 owes its biodiversity to the annual cut of much of the grassland, thereby reducing rank grasses and allowing the many non-grass species of plants to thrive. The machine cut will have been done a few days before ... our job is to move cut material to the margins of the area.

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided. We'll be bringing gloves but please bring your own gardening gloves if you have them.

No need to book on Meetup, but if you do it will help us to ensure that we have enough tools and biscuits.

Park in the public car park just before the Bray Lake Watersports building (postcode SL6 2EB). From the direction of Maidenhead, turn left off the A308 Windsor Road into Monkey Island Lane and take the left fork towards Bray Lake Watersports. Follow the signs for about 0.25 mile to Bray Pit.

Alternatively, walk down the footpath off the A308 opposite Bray Cemetery.
