Oaken Grove wildflower bed tidy up

Please join The Friends of Oaken Grove Park/Wild Maidenhead on Saturday October 17th and help to tidy up the wildflower beds at Oaken Grove.

Thanks to the revamp of the wildflower bed we all did earlier this year the bed was a much better habitat for lots of flowers, pollinators and birds this year than it has been for some years. However the drought in the summer did impact growth!

The plan on 17th October is to make the beds even better for 2027 when the wildlife will surely need it. We're going to:-

• Dig up the creeping thistle
• Plant more bulbs for the spring
• Cut and collect some areas.
• Put down cardboard and woodchip

Please bring: Gardening gloves, spades/trowels. Appropriate footwear is essential.
