Wildlife pond at Oaken Grove
Details
Do you have any free time on Thursday November 5th and/or Friday November 6th and fancy a good workout?
The Friends of Oaken Grove are converting the Sir Nicholas Winton upper pond into a wildlife pond.
The RBWM Contractor will be at Oaken Grove on the 5th and 6th of November with several builders bags of soil and sand. Help is needed with shovelling 7 builders bags of top soil into the pond area and sculpturing it to create levels within the pond and bring the edges up to the exterior ground level so that the wildlife can access the water and more importantly get out if they fall in! Once the top soil is in and compressed down (by us all stamping on it lots!) then there are two builders bags of sand to be laid to a depth of 10cm to form a smooth base for the pond underlay and liner which will go on top.
Please bring gloves and a shovel (which is better than a spade) if you have one. Wear stout waterproof footwear.
The RBWM Contractor will be at Oaken Grove each day approximately from 9am until 4pm.
