Walk along and over the Willamette River to visit the 9 acre Owen Roses Garden. Then to the historic Shelton-McMurphy House and up a long series of steps and a roadway to reach the summit of Skinner Butte. Enjoy and expansive view of Eugene, parts of Springfield, and Cascade and Coast Range foothills. Walk on a paved path along the river to River Play, an innovative children's playground and to a replica of Skinner's cabin, the first structure in the area. Return along the river (Willamette Greenway) and over it back to the start. The 5K skips Skinner Butte.
Driving Directions: From I-5 southbound, take exit 194B toward I-105W. Take exit 1 Delta Hwy. Use the middle lane to take the exit for Valley River Ctr. Slight right onto the ramp to Valley River Center. Use left lane to turn onto Valley River Way. Turn into parking lot for Valley River Inn.
