NE Salem: Grant/Highland Neighborhoods, 5/10k, rated 1A.

Walk on paved sidewalks often in shady areas. Both routes focus on Salem Heritage Grant and Highland Neighborhoods north of the State Capitol. Grant neighborhood has lovely residences and gardens. Highland routes include heavily remodeled Herbert Hoover childhood house, A street mural is in each area. 10K also goes to the Oregon School for the Deaf in the Highland area. A new 2K option on the 10K route goes to Oregon State Fairgrounds.
Driving Directions: I-5 exit 256 Market Street. Left (northbound), right (southbound) to Market St, Go 2 miles to Broadway. Right on Broadway to next traffic light at Hood. Right on Hood and immediate right to parking lot behind Broadway Commons. Can also park on nearby streets. From OR 22W: Left on Liberty Street after crossing Center Street bridge. Go about half a mile to intersection with Broadway, Left on Broadway to Hood St (2nd street after Market at next traffic light. Follow directions above,
