Indepndence, OR is about 15 miles West of downtown Salem. 5K and 10K walks showcase this small river town's National Historic Residential/Downtown District and the scenic Riverview Park by the Willamette River. There is an attractive all-season Inspiration Garden run by Master Gardeners which is on both routes.

Driving Directions: From I-5 exit 253 to Salem City Center. Follow signs to OR22 West. Right lane on Front St. ramp us to cross the bridge. 5 1/2 miles on OR22 before turning left on OR51 South to Independence. Right on Monmouth St to Central Plaza Center at 13th St on left. From 99W east on Main St. at traffic light in Monmouth to go to Independence. Right at 2nd traffic light at Gun Club Rd. (by McDonalds) to start point.
