NE Salem Grant & Highland Heritage Neighborhoods

2 5km loops 10 km rated 1A. Not alot of elevation change and walking mostly on sidewalks and paved paths.

Walk on paved pathways often in shady areas. One 5km route focuses on the Grant neighborhood and the 2nd 5km route focuses on the Highland area, north of the State Capitol. Grant neighborhood has lovely residences and gardens. Highland routes include heavily remodeled Herbert Hoover childhood house. A street mural is in each area.
10K also goes to the Oregon School for the Deaf in the Highland area. A new 2K option on the 10K route goes to Oregon State Fairgrounds.

Driving Directions: I-5 exit 256 Market Street. Left (northbound), right (southbound) to Market St, Go 2 miles to Broadway. Right on Broadway to next traffic light at Hood. Right on Hood and immediate right to parking lot behind Broadway Commons. Can also park on nearby streets. From OR 22W: Left on Liberty Street after crossing Center Street bridge.
